A shallow pool, draped in white fabric, forms the heart of the immersive experience of ‘Step into the Lake’. Aluminium stones—some fixed as platforms to step on, others suspended to move rhythmically across the scene—animate the water. When participants move, sensors tell the stones to fall still. When they pause, the stones slowly start their dance again, sending ripples that catch the light and project fleeting scenes across the textile walls. The atmosphere is ritual-like, a temporary world where something momentary yet deeply felt can emerge. At its core, ‘Step into the Lake’ invites a pause. In a time of fragmented attention and fading connection, Capucine Boury offers a space to slow down, to notice and to contemplate the quiet beauty of simply being present.
