@capucine.boury I am a designer and sensory artist, fascinated by how matter, light, and movement shape perception and evoke emotions. My work lies at the intersection of art, design, and installation, focusing on creating tangible and immersive experiences.

I am particularly drawn to raw, marginal, or living materials—such as moss, bones, reeds, sagne, steel wool, and latex—chosen for their tactile qualities and the stories they tell, whether natural, artisanal, or industrial. These materials are never neutral: their textures, transformations, and reactions guide form, spatial organization, and the sensations they evoke.

My practice unfolds through objects, experimental furniture, sculptures, and immersive installations that explore light, water, sound, and movement. I aim to create environments where the viewer becomes attuned to details, where materials unfold as protagonists, and where perception is renewed. These installations engage delicate, sometimes fragile, sometimes surprising dynamics, inviting an intimate dialogue with matter and space.

Process is central to my work: it is built on experimentation, repetition, transformation, and observation. I embrace imperfections, accidents, and the unpredictable reactions of materials, which give rise to unexpected forms and new experiences. Gesture and time become essential components of creation, turning each project into a laboratory of sensations and shapes.

Through my research, I explore how hybrid or ambivalent materials which can generate interactions between sculpture, object, and environment. I seek to investigate the relationships between textures, light, and movement, creating situations that extend sensory experience and question the boundaries between natural and artificial, intimate and shared. Capucine Boury est une artiste et designer sensorielle. Son univers se situe du design à la sculpture, du mobilier expérimental aux installations immersives. À travers ces médiums pluridisciplinaire, elle tend à comprendre comment les matériaux, la lumière et le mouvement peuvent perturber notre perception, réanimer nos souvenirs et toucher nos émotions. Son travail brouille volontairement les frontières : entre fonctionnel et poétique, entre industriel et organique, proposant des formes qui résistent aux catégories imposées.

Elle aime travailler avec des matériaux bruts, souvent négligés et même parfois vivants tel que la mousse, l’os, la sagne, la laine d’acier ou encore le latex. Ce qui l’attire, ce sont leurs textures, les histoires qu’ils portent et leurs capacités à évoluer. Ces matières ne sont jamais passives ; elles réagissent, se transforment, et c’est souvent elles qui guident la forme et l’échelle de ses pièces. Capucine se réapproprie cette part d’imprévisible en intégrant les accidents et les surprises comme des éléments fondamentaux de sa démarche. Par le biais de ses œuvres, elle invite à une réflexion quant à notre place, en tant qu’humains, dans un monde en perpétuel mouvement.

Son travail s’articule en deux approches entremêlées. D’un côté, des objets sculpturaux et mobilier expérimental où chaque pièce devient comme un petit laboratoire du sensible. De l’autre, des installations spatiales, où les matériaux entrent en résonance avec un espace pour créer des expériences immersives.

Qu’il s’agisse d’une pièce unique ou d’un environnement entier, ses œuvres poussent à reconsidérer les liens entre l’objet et son contexte, entre ce que l’on ressent et ce que l’on perçoit. A travers cette approche hybride, Capucine Boury façonne des œuvres où la matière, la forme et l’espace sont en dialogue constant, laissant une empreinte sensorielle qui dure dans le temps.
